T-Shirt Tuesday – Michael Jackson Edition

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Say what you will about Michael Jackson – and there’s certainly a lot to say – the one honest to God truth about the man is that he made some really incredible music. Name one artist in the 20th century who weaved the magic of music and cinema together like MJ did with Thriller. While you’re racking your brain trying to come up with an answer (hint: don’t waste your time, no one comes within a country mile), here’s a handful of MJ related tees for your viewing/wearing pleasure. JAM ON!

The Iller available at Mini Cassette

I really dig the minimalist approach to this. As previously mentioned, Thriller was (is!) so huge, it’s tough to pass this one up. $22

RIP Michael Jackson available at Print Liberation

One know a Print Liberation print when you see it and this MJ memorial tee is no exception. At only $16, this is a steal.

Eating Brains, Throwing Shapes available at Threadless

Aled Lewis (aka Fatheed) knocked it out of the park with this tee. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a good zombie tee? Eating Brains, Throwing Shapes is sold out in most sizes right now but I think Threadless might be compelled to reprint it given yesterday’s events.

Dance Off! available at Dutch Southern

Last but not least is a tee from yours truly. MJ is joined by Teen Wolf and Young Frankenstein for a showdown of epic proportions. I own a copy of this and I assure you, it looks dead sexy. $18? Deal!

And It Was Good

Oh baby!

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

My wife and I are excited to finally announce that we’re having a baby! We’ve been keeping it under wraps since early April but the cat is officially out of the bag. Little lunchboxbrain jr. (or “Peanut”, as we’ve been calling it) is due to arrive in late November and we couldn’t be more excited.

Any advice, pearls of wisdom, do’s and don’ts and other anecdotes from parental readers is greatly appreciated!

Let’s jump right into this week’s selections, shall we?

Ape-ocalypse at Go Ape Shirts

$18 for this masterpiece from Leon Ryan is a steal. Go Ape always puts out good stuff.

Get Over It at No Star Clothing

As a former hurdler, I LOVE this shirt. As a dude, it saddens me that I can’t buy it. I hope the good people at No Star hear my plea. $24.

Taco Dinosaur from SEIBEI

I’m having a hard time expressing how awesome this tee is. So a smiley face will just have to do. :) $21 + limited edition = buy it ASAP.

P.S. – There’s still a few days to get your photo entries in to the 1st Annual Lunchboxbrain Scavenger Hunt! Act now!

Hey folks! Welcome back to another installment of T-Shirt Tuesday. I’m kicking off this week’s post with some self-promotional hype. MySoti and PlayStation® Home have teamed up to sell select MySoti tees within PlayStation® Home. My tee, Turn It Up!, just so happens to be one of those select tees! Read more about this awesomely groundbreaking venture, here.

Now on with the T-Shirt Tuesday extravanganza!

Gummy Bear at Goodie Two Sleeves

This is one of those “why didn’t I think of that!?” ideas. Brilliant design for only $22.

Sushi Sacrifice at Rise and Resist Apparel

I’m not a fan of seafood, but the execution of the design and the look on the sushi’s face is classic. RANDR has some other great tees that you should check out while you’re over there. Did I mention this tee was on sale for a paltry $14? Steal!

Prepare To Meet Thy Doom at 2K Shirts

If you’ve read this blog and/or seen my work, you know that I love hand drawn type. Imagine the sheer happiness I experienced when I saw this amazing tee at 2K Shirts. It’s a little steep at $35, but sometimes you have to pay the price for greatness.

B Positive for sale at Design By Humans

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

I’m very excited to announce that my tee design, B Positive, is for sale at Design By Humans.

B Positive at Design By Humans

This design project originally started over at Threadless in June ’08. I wanted to do something positive so I charged the members of the Threadless community with sending positive messages which I then incorporated into a giant B through many many hours of cutting up newspaper lettering. I decided that should B Positive be chosen, I would donate all of the winnings to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region, Inc. and Gilda’s Club Capital Region New York.

While Threadless decided to pass on the design, I didn’t want to give up on the project so I submitted it to Design By Human in late February/early March. Awhile after that, new DBH maverick, Jimiyo informed me that B Positive had been selected for printing! Needless to say, DBH rocks. I’m also very grateful for all of the positive ideas/messages sent by the Threadless community.

In this time of war and economic troubles, my hope is that we all try and do something good for one another. Corny? Maybe. Necessary? Absolutely. Thanks for reading…now go buy your copy of B Positive!

T-Shirt Tuesday (Day late)

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

I know that it’s Wednesday. Do you actually expect me to be punctual with my blog posts?

Cold War Vet at headlineshirts

I love the the whole vibe going on here. Big print, vintage feel and a monkey astronaut engaging in unhealthy activities. What else could you ask for, people! At $20, this is a solid guy.

DaVinci’s Mario

This reminds me of Woot’s To The Top in the Style of DaVinci but I thought that was a great tee so this one’s a no-brainer. $20 is a reasonable price for the Mario fans out there.

TIN TINTIN TINTINTIN TIN TIN at Threadless

Threadless definitely doesn’t need my help in the tee pimping department, but I’m happy to do so anyway. Monsieur Pimpant’s has an awesome style and it’s nice to see this design get it’s due. $18? Hellz yes.

If that’s not enough t-shirt madness for you, I’ve got two subs up for voting at Loiter. Welcome to the Jungle and Hey McFly! Buzz Off! are choc filled with pop culture goodness. Also, I’ve got an entry into Woot’s music derby. Song Bird will only be up for voting until tomorrow afternoon so fly over to Woot and vote for it if you dig it.
